Your intake focuses on building trust and assessing safety. We will review confidentiality (HIPAA), discuss your history and goals, and—crucially—discuss the concept of a "Goodbye Session" to plan for your future success and independence. If we aren't a good fit, I will provide referrals immediately.

Currently, we are licensed to provide telehealth services exclusively in Washington State. We are actively expanding to additional states; join our waitlist to be notified of new openings.
-
Our standard fee is $200 per session. We offer a limited number of sliding-scale appointments and slots through OpenPath Collective (30–$70) based on income verification.
-
We require 48 hours' notice for cancellations to avoid a $50 fee. While we send email/text reminders as a courtesy, it remains the client's responsibility to manage their schedule and ensure appointments do not conflict with other commitments. Emergency exceptions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
-
We offer a flexible hybrid model. Virtual sessions use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform for clients anywhere in Washington. In-person sessions are available at our private office in Tacoma, WA. You can switch between modalities as needed.

Therapy/Counseling treats mental health disorders and heals past trauma (clinical focus). Coaching focuses on future goals and performance optimization. Pacific Pines Counseling provides clinical mental health counseling and psychotherapy for those seeking healing from conditions like anxiety, depression, or trauma. If you are looking purely for career coaching without additional clinical needs (e.g., depression or anxiety), a certified life coach may be a better fit.

I practice an integrative approach, blending techniques to fit your unique needs. Core modalities include Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed skills, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). For trauma, I utilize Polyvagal-Informed Therapy and Written Exposure Therapy. I also incorporate Narrative, Relational-Cultural, and Feminist Therapies to address identity and meaning. The specific blend is tailored during our first session.

We use a multi-layered security approach. Our electronic health record system (EHR) and phone (iPlum) and email (Google Workspace with BAA) are HIPAA-compliant. Crucially, we explicitly disable AI-training features on all third-party systems to ensure that your data is never used to train public models. Additionally, we use an LLM on a private server for all internal data, ensuring our company information is never shared with third parties.

If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room (e.g., MultiCare St. Joseph Medical Center Psychiatric Emergency Services). You can also call/text 988 for 24/7 support. Our practice does not provide 24-hour crisis services; please use these resources first, then contact us for follow-up care once it is safe to do so.

Yes, we can provide letters for accommodations or leave (e.g., FMLA) only to current clients. However, this is based on clinical necessity; we only issue documentation if your diagnosis and treatment plan support the request. You must sign a Release of Information (ROI) form before any details are shared.
